[News] Tate: Wash, rinse, repeat

CHAMPAIGN – Illinois deserves plaudits for a gritty, improved football performance Saturday. Jarred Fayson had his best game, catching eight balls, completing a 23-yard throwback and downing another great Anthony Santella punt on the 1-yard line. Trulon Henry had two interceptions, Corey Liuget was superb, Martez Wilson and Ian Thomas met the Buckeyes at the line, and Michael Buchanan made an …

The Dallas Cowboys last drafted a legitimate NFl caliber WR in 1993 selecting Kevin Williams. Our inability to draft quality NFL WRs has led to trading first round picks for very marginal, non super star caliber WRs over the years. Of course we did it again this year trading a 1st and 3rd for Roy Williams. Dallas' success next season hinges on his ability to live up to that trade. With that being said, we still need bodies. Our receiving core as of today looks like Williams, Crayton, Austin, Hurd, and likely Amendola. Stanback I think will be cut once he shows he is a shown another offseason on not being able to stay healthy. Hurd is a good player but hardly one that justifies faith in developing into a quality lead or number 2 guy. Crayton is a solid 2/slot guy who I expect will have a big year next season. Miles Austin is being looked at as taking TO's spot as a deep threat. Williams will be the "lead" WR but is hardly a burner. Is Austin good enough to man the number 2 slot like what is being hoped? Will he be wearing a Jet uniform next yr? Those questions will be answered in the next couple of weeks which will have a huge role in where the Cowboys will add a WR. I believe we will add at least one WR in this draft. My thoughts as of now is that we are looking at adding a WR with a Day Two pick, likely in Round 6. If we lose Austin to the Jets, I expect our third round pick to be used on the WR to fill in those shoes. Who do I see in each spot? Round 3- Brandon Tate- A …
