The Verizon iPhone finally has a release date! According to Bloomberg.com, who has been in touch with two Apple and Verizon executives behind the scenes, the iPhone for Verizon is said to hit January 2011. Bloomberg is a very reliable source, and it offers information about many topics similar to this one all the time, many of which are correct. The phone will have all of the same features as the iPhone 4 on At&t, but it will be on Verizon's CDMA network. At the time of release, Verizon is expected to have a high speed, 4g network ready, possibly for the iPhone to use, and it is also expected to relase other smarthphones, offering a wide new array of up to date smart phones on the carrier. This really is incredible news that has finally been released, and I will definitely be buying the iPhone on Verizon when it is released. So far it is for Verizon wireless in the states and the supposed release date is May 29th, 2009. In this video I compare the just announced Motorola Droid 2 for Verizon Wireless against the Samsung Epic 4G for Sprint and the myTouch 3G Slide for T-Mobile. All three phones run Android and have slide out QWERTY keyboards. The Motorola Droid 2 runs Android 2.2 and will be available for pre-sale August 11th and available in stores started the 12th for $199 from Verizon. Sprint will be offering the Android 2.1 powered Samsung Epic 4G soon, although no price or official release date has been announced yet. You can currently buy the myTouch 3G Slide with Android 2.1 from T-Mobile on contract for $180.
